چکیده
We refer to a recent letter to the editor by Hughes and show that, despite existing similarities between Youden's index and the log-likelihood ratio positive, important differences between these two measures remain to exist which can play an important difference in clinical practice.

Youden's Index and the Weight of Evidence Revisited.
A correspondence between Youden's index for rating diagnostic tests and the log-likelihood ratio of a positive test outcome is illustrated by data calculated from two previously-published studies of binary tests.

By means of Shannon's relationship between information and probability, Youden's index for rating diagnostic tests is shown to be a probability-scale analogue of the log-likelihood ratio of a positive test outcome.

Unfortunately, the letter “Youden’s Index and the Likelihood Ratio Positive in Diagnostic Testing“ by D. Böhning contained an error. It contained the wrong Figure 4. متن کاملAscitic fluid to serum bilirubin ratio for differentiation of exudates from transudates
Abstract Background: Regarding the diagnostic errors of the classic criteria including serum ascites albumin gradient (SAAG), total protein concentration and the adapted Light et al’s criteria in distinguishing transudate versus exudates, we evaluated the ascitic fluid to serum bilirubin ratio as a new criteria in this regard. We also evaluated whether the combination of bilirubin r...
